The Worst Thing Trump Did on 2/28/25

Sometimes, it's a no-brainer.

Yesterday, Trump, in an effort to appease his commander-in-chief Putin, coordinated an Oval Office attack on Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.  There are a lot of signs this was pre planned, from Vance (who has been pretty much absent since inauguration) suddenly showing up with a clearly PRACTICED list of attack questions, to a planted member of the media pool berating Zelenskyy for not wearing a suit (How F-ing stupid!), to a member of TASS (Russian State Media) being in the room until a British journalist posted they were there, to Trump's comments about Russia and Ukraine which seem to have been written by Putin himself.

More proof is how Trump and MAGA were frantically screaming it wasn't a foreign policy disaster worse than Neville Chamberlain but rather a resounding victory because "We're tough guys!" If you repeatedly have to tell people you're tough guys, you're not tough guys.

Political activist Chris Kluwe sized it up best yesterday when he described what happened as the undoing of 100 years of US foreign policy success.  The only change I would make is that it's actually closer to 110 years. The United States' reputation is in the absolute dumpster, with many European countries (and Canada) meeting hours after the debacle, intentionally without the US. Not a single one of our traditional allies thinks the US can be trusted with a spoon, let alone being put in the front of all foreign policy decisions.

If I'm China, I'm sprinting into Ukraine, offering anything they need for 1/10th of the US' demands, instantly becoming the new sole world power countries turn to in a time of crisis. I also guarantee Russia would IMMEDIATELY withdraw from Ukraine, as they don't have the military to fight in Ukraine (especially if China was involved) for much longer.

Yesterday will be a before and after moment in most history books.  The United States is now the world's villain, and I don't blame them for thinking that way.  It's embarrassing to be a US citizen today.

Meanwhile, a majority of the national news media, after witnessing what actually happened, have pointedly reported on the disaster by leading with the Trump Administration's narrative; laughable lies and a desperate re-imagining of what really happened. They are clearly part of Trump's armada. It'd be like if the Hindenberg crashed, and after seeing the devastation, them reporting on it with "The Trump Administration has reported a minor blimp accident happened, that it's really not that bad, but it's also all Joe Biden and Zelenskyy's fault."

God help us all!
