President Trump, Week 17

SWEET MOTHER OF GOD!!!

Here's my comically long weekly list of horrible things coming from President Trump and his White House for the week beginning 2 PM, May 12th to 2 PM, May 19th. This is, likely, not all of the Trump team's transgressions, but it's most of them.  Seriously, I was out of town for two days last weekend, so I probably missed a few things.  Trust me there's still a heck of a lot of meat on this bone!

Reminder: if the letter next to the President's name was a 'D' instead of an 'R', all of these transgressions would've at least warranted a ridiculing press conference from the Republicans.  Most of them would've gotten their own committee hearing; quite a few this week should've been a no brainer to start a independent special investigation, and AT LEAST 20 things on this list would've gotten a Republican scrambling to write up the impeachment papers if it was a Democratic President.

Where the Republicans are still UNDENIABLY dragging their heels on Trump and Russia, they seem to understand where this is all going.  Many of them praised the (SPOILERS) special counsel appointed but the Justice Department this week, even they know it symbolizes the beginning of the end.  They're taking the smart political stance, because they don't want to make the 2018 election too easy for the Democrats.

It's like you're rolling around on the floor of a movie theater after five showings on the opening weekend for a movie designed for young children.  This is gross.  Keep your wet naps ready to go, and let's begin!

  • Former FBI Director James Comey is eager for Trump to release his tapes, the tapes of their White House conversations Trump implied on Twitter he possessed.  The Twitter post hinted at the White house having recorded numerous conversations.  Comey says he has nothing to hide
  • White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer twice refuses to deny Trump is secretly recording White House conversations
  • Former First Lady Michelle Obama asked why anyone would be OK with their kids eating crap, a not so veiled shot at Trump's rescinding of her healthy school lunch initiative
  • After US Secretary of Education was booed loudly and openly protested at a college commencement address, a decision was made for GOP Senator John Cornyn to not attempt a different commencement address
  • The Senate Intelligence Committee is VERY interested in hearing the Trump/Comey tapes, if they exist.  They've begun to explore ways to compel Trump to hand the tapes over to them
  • Trump must turn over a memo and other documents from a commission led by former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani, paperwork which describes the efforts to legally ban Muslims from entering the country.  This was the ruling of a Federal judge
  • The man Trump has picked to lead his mythical voter fraud probe is Kansas politician Kris Kobach, a man who has a notorious history of grossly exaggerating voter fraud
  • A senior Trump aide, when he heard the latest round of Trump tweets, just had one comment, "Jesus"
  • In a remarkable admission, Trump best friend Roger Stone, a man who shows up repeatedly in news stories about Russia and Trump (see pretty much every Trump List) tells the TV show The View he'd welcome a special investigator to get to the bottom of the Trump/Russia affair
  • The Department of Agriculture announced a major reorganization, all but eliminating the conservation arm of the department by doing away with the Undersecretary of Natural Resources and Environment position, pushing all of his responsibilities to the Undersecretary of Farm Service, the guy who oversees crop insurance
  • Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein insists there is no need of a special Russia/Trump special prosecutor (Wait for it...)
  • The ACLU has filed a Freedom of Information Request for Trump's "evidence" of massive voter fraud, something he says he has, something he is using as a basis for a special investigation
  • An explosive Dutch Documentary 'The Dubious Friends of Donald Trump, Part 1: The Russians' says Trump has deep ties to the Russian mafia underworld, people with a history of illegal racketeering, meaning Trump is likely guilty of criminal racketeering too.  (Part 1???)
  • Trump's EPA has pulled back on environmental restrictions which were designed to protect Alaska's Bristol Bay, a bay where half of the world's salmon is fished, from the environmental impacts of mining
  • Health and Human Services Secretary Tom Price is encouraging criminal charges for the reporter who dared ask him a question without Price approving of it first
  • Apparently Trump is insisting he didn't meet with Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak when he invited Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov into the Oval Office, but we have photos of the meeting, which were published to social media, with Trump and Kislyak together

  • White House Chief of Staff Reince Priebus had to warn staff to not put news in front of Trump if they didn't know if it was true or not.  This after Deputy National Security Advisor K.T. McFarland tried to give Trump an internet meme dismissing climate change, a meme which featured a fake Time magazine cover from the 1970's.  Staff managed to remove the meme from the daily briefing, and explained to Trump it was fake prior to him getting on Twitter
  • Reports are starting to come out White House staffers are being warned to get legal counsel prepared for future lawsuits and charges

  • New York State Attorney General has started to investigate former Trump Campaign Director's Paul Manafort's real estate dealings

  • White Nationalist protesters showed up to protest the removal of the Robert E. Lee statue, an anti-USA general who killed a lot of American citizens and soldiers, from a park in Virginia.  The chants the racist mob screamed are what ties this to Trump, as the crowd was chanting 'Russia is our Friend,' along with numerous other undeniable Nazi and racists slogans.  This implies they're taking Trump's side on the Russia/Trump affair.  No condemnation from the White House

  • National Security Adviser H.R. McMaster was on damage control with the disclosure that Trump shared classified information with the Russians.  After initially saying, "At no time were any intelligence sources of methods discussed and no military operations were disclosed that were not already known publicly," he expressed displeasure with the news of what was actually shared, making the statement "this is the last place I wanted to be"
  • Sean Spicer, during his daily press briefing, states there was no need for a special prosecutor in regards to Trump's firing of the FBI Director, and the ongoing Russia/Trump scandal.  This was before the revelation of Trump blabbing to the Russians

  • Trump ADMITS he shared classified information with the Russians, stating he had an "absolute right" to do so.  Actually he doesn't

  • Numerous names are coming up in discussions on who'll be Trump's new FBI director, and anyone mentioned almost immediately releases a statement saying they're not interested
  • Apparently National Security Adviser H. R. McMaster needs a class on how to defuse a situation as he admits Trump was given the secret intelligence from Israel, intelligence he blabbed to Russia, without anyone disclosing where the information came from
  • McMaster also refused to deny Trump leaked the information the Russians
  • Top Senate Democrats are now demanding the White House turn over the transcripts of the Trump Russia meeting where he blabbed secret intelligence
  • In what is becoming a daily occurrence, another bombshell about Trump, as it's revealed by the New York Times, there exists a memo where former FBI Director James Comey describes Trump engaging in Obstruction of Justice.  The memo was written the day after former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn resigned, as Trump said to Comey "I hope you can let this go."  It's the clearest evidence that Trump did indeed try to influence the Russia investigation, and likely broke the law
  • Another element of that meeting was put to memo, as Trump's war with the media took a very sinister turn.  Trump apparently asked Comey to "Consider putting reporters in prison for publishing classified information."
  • In what sounds like the beginning of an off-color and insensitive SNL skit, Trump announces a plan to give a speech on Islam in Saudi Arabia
  • The Mexican Economic Minister expects NAFTA talks to begin by late August, but no word from the Trump Administration.  Mexico is actually hoping to renegotiate the sugar agreement prior to the meeting, a similar trade dispute to the Canadian Milk issue.  Reminder, Trump escalated that trade disagreement by being stubborn
  • Israel, continuing to comment on their intelligence being blabbed to the Russians: "It's our worst fears confirmed"
  • Trump apparently asked Attorney General Jeff Sessions and Vice President Mike Pence to leave the room prior to pressuring Comey to drop the Michael Flynn investigation.  This hints they might have had knowledge of what Trump was going to ask Comey
  • It's known the Comey memos were circulated in a small circle of Justice Department officials. Whether Attorney General Sessions or Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein were aware of the memo is an important question.  If they were aware of it, and both signed off on the 'Fire Comey' letter they sent to Trump, they they too have become compromised

  • Senator John McCain [[[Quick side note:  McCain was a POW, held in a prisoner of war camp, and he didn't blab for five years...Trump blabs five minutes into a meeting with the Russians, just to brag!]]] states he feels the Comey memo is "Watergate Size" and advises Trump to get everything out now

  • Some people on the left are questioning whether Trump adviser and BFF Roger Stone might be trying to lay the foundation for Trump's ultimate defense, he suffers from Alzheimer's Disease.  Stone has been critical of people accusing him of having Alzheimers but a search of statements made prior to Stone's accusation points to no one credible making the allegation

  • Democrats in the House are planning on forcing a vote on a independent Russia commission
  • Donald Trump Jr. did something amazing stupid.  He endorsed a tweet from Fox News Contributor Geraldo Rivera which basically admits Trump did indeed try to corral Comey's Flynn investigation, but it wasn't a crime because Trump thought, even after being warned multiple times, Flynn was a 'good man.'  Junior's tweet was a re-tweet with the word "Truth" added, implying he was admitting Trump did indeed ask James Comey to stop the Flynn investigation.  Junior is desperately trying to spin his take as agreeing with Rivera, but not agreeing with Rivera
  • The State Department has formally reminded employees to not promote private interests on social media, after multiple Trump private business ventures were promoted by Federal employees
  • After Trump implied he was entitled to blab secret intelligence to the Russians, intelligence experts from the country where the intelligence originated, Israel, said no he wasn't entitled to do so
  • Trump went to the commencement ceremony for the Coast Guard Academy, and about halfway through his speech, decided he'd done enough encouraging of the graduates, and focused on his own plight.  Trump started talking about how unfairly he, a billionaire and President of the United States, had been treated, insisting he's been treated worse than any other politician in history.  That's not even remotely close to being factual.  He wrapped up with "Good luck! Enjoy your life."

  • Rep. Al Green, a Democrat, become the first lawmaker from either party to walk to the floor of their body and openly call for the impeachment of Trump.  "This is not personal, this is constitutional."
  • Trump announced Milwaukee County Sheriff, and man who had an inmate die of dehydration in his jail, David Clarke, is being named as an Ass. Secretary in the Department of Homeland Security
  • The Justice Department finally caved to reality and on Wednesday named a special prosecutor to investigate Russian Interference into the 2016 presidential election.  Former FBI Director Robert Mueller will head the investigation
  • The Washington Post has a bombshell report, but this time Trump's not the central character.  An audio recording exists of a gathering of Republican leadership in which House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy, IN JUNE OF 2015!!!, stated "There's two people I think Putin pays: [Republican Congressman Dana] Rohrabacher and Trump."  Speaker Ryan then interjected before anything else could be spilled, stating "No leaks...this is how we know we're a family here."  This is clear evidence 1) the GOP had suspicions of Russian interference with Trump almost two years ago, and 2) The GOP places party loyalty over the betterment of the United Stated of America
  • In a comical reaction about the GOP's McCarthy Tape, spokespeople initially stated the conversation never occurred.  When they were informed they were lying, as an audio recording of the conversation exists, they then immediately changed their story to state McCarthy and Ryan were both "just joking"
  • A US judge issued a ruling blocking the Department of Justice from imposing actions which would dramatically limit people facing deportation from receiving legal assistance
  • Sean Spicer, when cornered on Air Force One in regards to the Comey memo, started repeating himself, mumbling incoherently

  • The New York Times is reporting Michael Flynn actually told the Trump Administration he was under Federal Investigation on January 4th, well before the Inauguration.  He told Trump's chief lawyer Donald McGahn, the same man Former Acting Attorney General Sally Yates told about the problems with Flynn, six days into Trump's term.  Reminder, McGahn told Yates "is it really a big deal White House staffers lie to each other"
  • This means Trump knew Flynn was being investigated when he made him the National Security Adviser, knowingly putting a compromised individual into direct contact with the US's most sensitive intelligence
  • It's now reported advisers for Trump's campaign, in the last seven months of the 2016 Presidential campaign, were in contact with Russian officials 18 times, according to a report from Reuters.  This includes multiple interactions which were not previously reported.  And yes, 18 times is an incredible amount of times to directly contact one country as a candidate for President, and that's only the contacts we're aware of
  • One of the main discussion topics of the repeated contact between the Russians and Trump's campaign was to set up an illegal back channel communication between the two groups which would effectively bypass the US Government
  • Michael Flynn, while National Security Advisor, seemed to be making anti-American interest decisions while in office, refusing to arm Turkish Kurds to help fight ISIS.  Apparently the Turkish government feared the arms would end up in the hands of their enemies, so Flynn denied the request.  Flynn was paid last year by the Turks, illegally, to advocate on their behalf
  • The story out of the GOP fundraising wing is chaotic.  There's a growing fear Trump will torpedo the ability for the GOP to continue to out raise the Democratic Party (factoring in the dark money which pours into Republican coffers).  Already numerous major conservative donors have said they're going to sit 2018 out
  • Trump throws a Twitter temper tantrum by accusing the Clinton camp and former President Obama's Administration of having numerous scandals which never had a special prosecutor.  What he didn't mention was the constant investigations held by the Republican House and Senate looking for any crime, and when they couldn't find one, they'd open a new investigation on the same issue to try again
  • Trump also on Twitter calls the mere appointment of a special prosecutor the "single greatest witch hunt of a politician in American History."  Can someone get him a history book...
  • An unconfirmed report says former FBI Director Comey's computer was illegally accessed immediately after his dismissal, files were downloaded off of his computer, and those files were in turn given to Russian diplomats.  For the record, more confirmation of this story needs to be made, but the person reporting this has been shockingly correct on Trump and Russia all along

  • Conveniently, Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin has told lawmakers to not to trust any other scoring models other than his own on the impact of Trump's tax plan, as he insists they all underreport the economic growth anticipated
  • Trump has cancelled an upcoming potential speech at the ancient Israeli fortress of Masada because he was not allowed to land his helicopter on top of the UNESCO-listed site
  • It's reported the Special Counsel Robert Mueller worked for a law firm which represented Trump daughter Ivanka, Trump son in law Jared Kushner and former campaign director Paul Manafort
  • The White House plans on downsizing the amount of daily press briefings Sean Spicer will perform, as clearly the last few weeks have broken the man

  • Another of Betsy Devos' Education Budget cuts is to entirely eliminate all Federal school funding for advanced coursework.  This would mean the only way you could get an advanced class is to go to a private school, charter school, or a wealthy public school district which can afford to pick up the costs themselves
  • Some Congressional Republicans are actually pushing back on Trump, stating his calling the investigation a 'witch hunt' is off base and that Trump should stop tweeting
  • Friends of James Comey have implied Comey talked of multiple times Trump tried to influence the former FBI Director
  • Numerous aides and advisors in the White House have told Trump he needs to get a private lawyer ready for the upcoming investigations
  • If Trump thought potentially nominating Former Senator Joe Lieberman to be the new head of the FBI would get some Democratic votes, think again.  The Senate Democrats feel as if Lieberman is too untrustworthy to hold the position
  • The House Committee on Science, Space and Technology have sent a bipartisan letter to Trump, expressing concern of how Trump get's his scientific information, most of which seems to originate for Fox News and right wing news outlets
  • Apparently FBI Director James Comey tried to hide in plain site from Trump, trying to blend into the curtains to avoid having to interact with him
  • The other politician mentioned in the McCarthy tape besides Trump, being referred to as getting paid by the Russians, is GOP Representative Dana Rohrabacher, was indeed targeted by Russian spies in 2012 according to the FBI.  The FBI warned him at that point
  • During a phone call, Trump had asked former FBI Director Comey when the feds would publicly announce Trump wasn't under suspicion in regards to the investigation into Trump's ties to the Russians.  The call happened weeks after the Inauguration and Comey refused to answer the question
  • Trump's regular weekend trips to his golf course in New Jersey are threatening to close down a private airport business, Van Sant Airport, which is under a no fly order whenever Trump's at the course, which is apparently far more often than reported.  He's favoring NJ as he was getting too much flack for his constant Mar-A-Lago trips and is adjusting his schedule for the warmer weather
  • Rep. Devin Nunes, a man who recused himself from the House Intelligence Committee's investigation into Trump due to his undeniable conflicts of interest, is continuing to review intelligence related to the investigation.  Apparently Nunes went to he CIA to review their Russia dossier the week
  • Trump, Speaker Paul Ryan and the House Republicans might have screwed up by rushing the Trumpcare vote prior to the CBO's cost analysis.  The report is due next week, and unless the money numbers add up, the bill will have to be voted on again in the House where it barely passed.  The GOP seem to know this, as it's also reported the House has not formally submitted Trumpcare to the Senate yet for their consideration
  • First Daughter and White House staffer doing...something(?) Ivanka Trump apparently lead an official White House meeting in the White House, standing in for her father.  Not Vice President Pence, not Chief of Staff Reince Priebus, NOPE!  Trump has placed his daughter in charge when he's not in the White House
  • Trump falls back on his promise for a trillion dollars in infrastructure spending, stating his budget will only have 200 billion in spending, hoping the private sector will cover the remaining 800 billion.  I hope you like toll roads
  • Trump's Department of Justice is attacking lawyers who have been fighting Trump's Unconstitutional Immigrant/Refugee/Muslim ban by targeting them with false accusations of fraud
  • Foreign governments are now openly targeting First Daughter and White House staffer doing...something(?) Ivanka Trump as they feel by wooing her, they can influence Trump
  • Democratic Senators are concerned Trump will permanently repeal the "fiduciary rile" which prevents investment workers from recommending inappropriate retirement investments
  • As Trump prepares for his first major international trip world leaders are being told to openly and continually praise Trump, as this is the best way to keep him on your good side.  Can you imagine what the GOP's response would be of President Obama would've had this "quirk"
  • Notre Dame University students are openly protesting VP Pence's commencement speech
  • Jared Kushner reportedly stepped in and negotiated a lower price in a weapons deal for the Saudis.  He pushed the US company to lower they prices for a foreign government

  • Walt Disney World is considering breaking with tradition and silencing the President Trump robot in the 'Hall of Presidents' exhibit.  Traditionally, the last three Presidents, including the current one, are all given speaking roles, but Disney might change that policy

Seriously...this was predictable, but yet still so disappointing,  I'm embarrassed for my country.

The level of denial coming from Republican voters is still amazing.  How do you look at what this guy has done, and is currently doing, and endorse any of it?  The only answer which makes sense is Republican voters HATE Democrats more than they love their own well being and more than they love the United States of America.

Republican voters see the world through a different prism than normal people do.  They look at undocumented workers and accuse them of stealing American jobs, but when they run off the undocumented workers and the white workers left behind realize the immigrants were cleaning up our toilets, picking our food, roofing houses, and working other hard labor jobs, FOR MINIMUM WAGE, they all the sudden act like they never complained about immigrants.

Republicans look at conservative actor Tim Allen's TV show getting cancelled after 6 years and complain about how the network never gave it a chance (6 years?), how the network cancelled the show solely due to Tim Allen's politics (ABC cancelled it because 1- FOX owned it and was charging them more, 2 - Allen was due for a salary negotiation, and he was already getting paid a ton, plus 3 - ABC cancelled all of their Friday night sitcoms), and how liberal Hollywood never portrays real life conservatives (there are tons of conservatives portrayed in entertainment media today, and wasn't it the Right who pushed to get rid of the Fairness Doctrine, saying the free market should decide what gets produced?  They just don't want that standard to apply to Hollywood entertainment, just to the news media.)

And Republican voters still see the Russian golfing pig with orange hair and see Ronald Reagan's smarter brother.  They insist he's already passed a million new laws, when he's only written a few executive orders and most of them are being legally challenged as unconstitutional, and the main policy and budget changes he's promised are either in court, stuck in Congress, or haven't even been unveiled yet.  They see all of the scandal surrounding the hairless orangutang and, even though it means going against every intelligence agency we have, many politicians (including numerous Republicans), all credible media, and even the Congressional testimony of respected individuals (who as well cover the wide gamut of political ideology), all of whom are screaming 'Russia helped flip the election, and Trump might have helped them,' all they see is 'Make America Great Again!'

You can't cure stupid, especially when it's so gleefully embraced.
