David Letterman returned to the late night stage and showed up on Jimmy Kimmel's special New York week of shows.
It's amazing the current late night hosts are not at each other's throats. I think it's a sign of how talented they really are. They don't need to stoop to the level of pettiness to win. As a matter of fact, the last year has seen the late night hosts get better than ever, each trying to outdo themselves, mainly at the expense of Trump. Letterman was the template for all of them, even though they all present their shows in incredibly different ways
Letterman was phenomenal. Quick set up before I post the interview: as I've mentioned in previous Friday Links, Letterman was the master of everyday humor. While some people had 'over the top' punchlines, or casts of thousands for the payoff, Letterman could find the humor in everyday experiences. He'd make you stop and realize how ludicrous life really was.
Proof, Dave takes a job at a Taco Bell:
On Kimmel, he did look old. He even talks about that. It was great to see him on the stage again.
God is he good. Enjoy the Fall colors. Have a great weekend!
