The Worst Thing Trump Did on 5/26/25

Details stuffed into Trump's Big Beautiful Bill are trickling out.  This is because the bill is so large and enormous that it has been easy for people to stash little things into it without really being seen.  Someone, under the cover of darkness, added a small note that would immediately revoke the Judiciary Branch's ability to oversee Trump.

"No court in the United States may use appropriated funds to enforce a contempt citation for failure to comply with an injunction or temporary restraining order if no security was given when the injunction or order was issued."

The language at the end of the tidbit is designed to make this sound fair, but in reality, it's a poison pill to any court cases against Trump.

The courts use budgeted funds to enforce contempt citations and failure to comply orders.  What this bill is saying is that the people bringing the cases against Trump would have to completely fund any potential enforcement action needed when Trump says "Screw You" to the courts.  Unless the people who have brought the charges put forth hundreds of thousands of dollars in advance, there's technically nothing the court can do to enforce any violations of their rulings.

One little line says there will no longer be any consequences for Trump ignoring a court order.

The insanely fast march to turn Trump into a king and this country into a dictatorship continues.
