The Trump Top 20 Countdown for the Week of 9/10/18

Welcome to the Weekly Top 20 Countdown of Trump's ineptitude and stupidity for the week of 9/10/18 to 9/16/18.

These are the 20 biggest pieces of incompetence coming from Trump and his Administration for last week alone.  All the things on this list should lead to investigations, committee hearings, firings, resignations and even one or two impeachment charges.  Instead, as Republicans wonder why they are polling so bad, not once has it ever occurred to them to rally against Trump for their own benefit in November.

A quick Google search will give you plenty of news options on all of these stories.  The ranking is purely on me.  Please feel free to disagree and comment why below.

On with the countdown!

20) Trump promised, repeatedly, that Mexico would pay for the entire cost of his border wall, the one Trump wanted to build between Mexico and the USA.  He PROMISED!  It was a major campaign tentpole.  That has changed to getting the US taxpayers to pay for it, hoping Mexico might eventually chip in something.  Now a report states Trump is actually paying Mexico.  He's giving them twenty million dollars to help the US to deport undocumented immigrants. (9/13)

19) Eric Trump (Tweede Dum) appeared on Fox News to defend his father from the Bob Woodward book 'Fear."  He came off as an anti-Jewish bigot.  He implied Woodward only wrote the book to make "three extra shekels." The term is considered to be anti-Semitic, especially coming from the son of a notorious racist. (9/12)

18) Trump made up a quote about former President Barack Obama; absolutely pulled it out of his caboose.  He quoted Obama stating "...Trump would need a magic wand to get to 4% GDP."  Obama never once said that.  He did make a comment about a magic wand, but that was in reference to Trump bringing all the manufacturing jobs back to the US, NOT about the GDP.  Regardless, Trump's 'quote' is in no way even close to anything Obama actually said. (9/10)

17) In a scary development in North Carolina, Trump had the US Attorney for North Carolina sent off numerous faxes on behalf of ICE and the DOJ, seeking every voting record from 2010 to this year, for all 44 County Boards of Elections.  This would be upwards of 20 million documents, at a time when they are trying to finalize the 2018 election preparations, and preparing for a major hurricane.  Experts are calling this a new front in Trump's attempt to control the elections themselves. (9/12)

16) Former White House Aide Omarosa Manigault-Newman shared a recording of Trump, where Trump was making jokes about terrorists.  He was making these jokes as the White House was dealing with the deaths of the US Service members killed in Niger.  On the tape, people can be heard laughing.  For the record, a conversation about the death of service members is never a laughing matter, and if former President Obama was ever caught doing such a thing, Republicans would've demanded his resignation.  (9/10)

15) Trump told another doozie of a lie, one even Fox News had to correct.  He claimed the GDP rate being higher than the unemployment rate hasn't happened in 100 years. Since 1948 (which is only 70 years ago), there have been 63, SIXTY THREE (!!!), quarters where the GDP has been higher than the unemployment rate.  This means 20% of the time, not exactly a rare occurrence.  How he ever though no one would catch him on this, I have no idea. (9/10)

14) Former Secretary of State John Kerry has enraged Trump by telling the Iranians it'd be better for them to wait out the Trump Administration as opposed to actually deal with Trump.  Trump said it was illegal for Kerry to meet with Iran (it isn't).  He then insisted Kerry should've been registered as some sort of foreign agent before giving any advice to a foreign government (seems to have made that one completely up).  He then ended his rage tweet with "BAD!" (9/13)

13) On 9/11, Trump put out a commemorative tweet which at best would be described as glib.  "17 years since September 11th!"  That was it; nothing else.  It comes across more like a President's Day Mattress Sale instead of a note to commemorate an attack on American soil.  Also, that wasn't his first tweet on 9/11.  His first was a claim of "no collusion." (9/11)

12) A US District Judge ruled Education Secretary Betsy DeVos' attempt to delay the Obama-era student loan forgiveness policies for defrauded students is illegal.  The Trump Administration wants to re-wrtie the law to make the loan forgiveness for defrauded students only available for a limited amount of students.  It's not clear if any of those students had loans for the fraudulent Trump University. (9/12)

11) Bob Woodwad, the author of the new book 'Fear,' says Trump almost sent a tweet which had the Pentagon scrambling.  The tweet Trump did not send referred to the US pulling all dependents of US citizens out of South Korea. Trump's un-sent tweet was meant as a tough guy message to Kim Jong-un, but in reality, it would've easily been mistaken by North Korea as a sign of an imminent attack.  A back channel message from the North Koreans verified indeed North Korea would've taken it as a declaration of war.  In the end, Trump (thankfully) didn't hit send. (9/10)

10) Trump's candidate to be Ambassador to Romania, Adrian Zuckerman, was sued for sexual harassment by his secretary while he was at his old law firm.  What's amazing about this is the White House screening process for Ambassadors should've found this in their initial background check, prior to his nomination to be an Ambassador.  The discovery of such a fact should've negated his nomination, but not in the land of Trump. (9/15)

9) Former Director of the National Security Agency, Admiral Mike Rodgers, revealed Trump, even though there was irrefutable evidence the Russians hacked the US elections of 2016, told him "Mike, you know I'm in a different place on Russian hacking."  Rodgers response was to tell Trump this wasn't about politics or opinion.  This was about factual evidence of a foreign country trying to "subvert the very tenets of our structure."  Trump didn't care. (9/13)

8) White House aides were forced to explain to Trump how dangerous Hurricane Florence was by using large colored charts to keep his attention.  Apparently just explaining things to Trump is impossible, so they have had to use large color images more akin to a 2nd grade classroom to explain "hurricanes bad." (9/14)

7) Trump's National Security Advisor John Bolton made news.  First, he announced a threat to the International Criminal Court, the ICC, at the Hague, threatening sanctions and to arrest ICC judges if they continue to investigate alleged war crimes committed by Americans in Afghanistan.  What's not clear is if the Trump Administration is upset at the investigation into US troops, or US private contractors, privately held, for-profit companies, many of whom have ties to Trump.  The private contractors are usually the ones who are guilty of war zone crimes.  The Trump Administration actually threatened to arrest judges who investigate their Administration's actions.  WOW!  Bolton also announced the decision to shutter the Palestinian mission in Washington DC.  This is the latest Trump attack on the Palestinians, following the ending of US humanitarian and medical aid to Palestine.  Trump and the White House say this is a tough tactic to force Palestine to agree to Trump/Israeli demands in peace talks.  This hostile approach to Palestine also comes as Palestine is asking the ICC at The Hague to investigate Israeli war crimes committed in Palestine.  Coincidence?  (9/10)

6) Trump is fighting with facts again.  He tweeted out, in regards to last year's Hurricane Maria, "3000 people did not die in...Puerto Rico. When I left the island...they had anywhere from 6 to 18 deaths. As time went by it did not go up by much."  He added "this [the 2975 number of actual dead] was done by the Democrats in order to make me look as bad as possible..."  The Trump Administration's official death toll on Puerto Rico at the hands of Hurricane Maria was 64 (did not go up much from 18???).  Afterwards, George Washington University determined the actual death toll was 2975,  a number many people agree with, a number based on facts.  Many Republican officials are dumbfounded trying to explain Trump's death toll math. Then on Friday night, Trump doubled down on his claim that 2975 people did not die.  He continued to use low numbers no one can substantiate.  Trump insisted only 16 people had died when he toured the island, when it was actually 34 confirmed dead at that point. Trump then said 50 times as many people dying than his Administration quoted is impossible.  It's actually 46.5 times bigger, and it's VERY possible, considering many communities were cut off for days, weeks and in a few cases, even months. (9/13,15)

5) Trump's stunning lack of understanding of how exactly the US economy works came through in a November 2016 meeting between him and eventual, and now former, White House Economic Advisor Gary Cohen.  This story was recounted in the Woodward book, 'Fear.'  Cohen was giving Trump an initial briefing on the nation's economy.  Cohen stated that Trump should expect interest rates to increase.  Trump's response was to suggest the country borrow a ton of money, hold and then sell it to make more money after the rates go up.  It was clear to Cohen Trump didn't understand the basics of the bond market, nor did he understand how doing such a thing would dramatically increase the deficit.  Trump brushed off the criticism and suggested the government just print up money.  Quoting Trump: "What do you mean?  Just run the presses...print more money." Cohen was astounded by Trump's low IQ in regards to how the government's financial sector operated, but yet he still went to work for him. (9/11)

4) What kind of jackass do you need to be to work for Trump?  Meet head of FEMA, Director Brock Long.  He said it was fair for Trump to misrepresent the death toll of Hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico (Trump said it was 64, when the real number is 2,975) because some of the people could've died of "spousal abuse."  He said the Administration's 64 number was based on people who died of direct contact with the hurricane, from damage done as the hurricane was striking the island.  Long dismissed the people who died after the hurricane struck; "heart attacks...falling off their house trying to fix the roof....car crashes...where stoplights aren't working.  You know, the other things that go on.  Spousal abuse goes through the roof.  You can't blame spousal abuse after a disaster on anybody."  WOW!  A person dying from a heart attack because the medical infrastructure has been destroyed by a hurricane WOULD BE a hurricane related death, as would be someone falling as they desperately tried to fix the roof of their house, a roof damaged by the hurricane.  The roads and electrical grids being damaged, and any deaths related to said damage, would also be hurricane related, but for the FEMA Director to imply many of the 2911 underreported deaths were due to spousal abuse, not the hurricane, is one of the most horrible statements any member of any Administration has ever made. (9/16)

3) With the release of Bob Woodward's book 'Fear,' another bombshell is revealed.  Trump's lawyer John Dowd, after giving Trump a sample interview, to see how he'd do in regards to a Mueller interview, stated directly to Trump "you cannot testify, you are disabled."  When asked by his own team why he makes up lies in these practice interviews, Trump implied he had no idea. (9/11)

2) Brett Kavanaugh, Trump's nominee to the Supreme Court might be in trouble.  A letter was released accusing Kavanaugh of attempting to force himself sexually on a teenage girl while he was in high school in the 1980's.  The allegation was revealed to Senator Dianne Feinstein after Kavanaugh was put forward by Trump to replace retiring Justice Kennedy.  Kavanaugh denies the claim.  Feinstein turned the letter over to the FBI asking them to investigate, but they have refused.  The woman who accused Kavanaugh of sexually assaulting her broke her anonymity, after Senate Republicans were openly dismissing the claim.  Christine Ford told the Washington Post of the night Kavanaugh allegedly sexually assaulted her, while a friend of his (who himself seems to have a dubious history of alcohol and inappropriate behavior) watched.  She explained she revealed the sexual assault prior to now, back in 2012 when she and her husband were in couples therapy.  This account is backed up not only by her husband, but also the therapist's notes from the time of the reveal in 2012.   Ford has already passed a polygraph test about the incident. Kavanaugh should (ironically) get his day in court, something many of the Republicans defending him were not willing to offer former Senator Al Franken when allegations against him came to light, but for the GOP to ram him through to the Supreme Court without a complete vetting of the incident is WILDLY innapprprate.  Republican Senator Jeff Flake is the first to openly state he's not comfortable voting to confirm Kavanaugh without answers. (9/14, 16)

1) In a stunning blow to Trump, Paul Manafort, his former Campaign Manager, will plead guilty in his second trail as part of a plea deal he has arranged with the Robert Mueller investigation.  The deal includes a maximum ten year prison term for Manafort, as well as the surrendering of various assets.  Manafort will plead guilty to two counts of conspiracy as part of the Russia probe, as long as he cooperates with the Mueller investigation.  Most of Trump's aides fear Trump will pardon Manafort of all charges almost immediately, only adding evidence to Mueller's obstruction of justice charges against Trump.  Regardless Manafort has probably already given Mueller plenty of evidence, something which a pardon can't undo.  White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders says Manafort, Trump's former Campaign Manager, has "absolutely nothing" to do with Trump.  Manafort could potentially take down everyone in Trump's inner circle. (9/14)

That Manafort flip is HUGE! I guarantee Mueller knows exactly how the entire Russia scheme went down.  Trump is clearly terrified of his legacy being complete incompetence wrapped in treason.

Make sure you help out Democrats who are running in districts where the race is close.  15 points seems to be the number, so if there is a Republican district near you where the Republican won by less than 15, that district is up for grabs!!!  We all have work to do!

Get registered to vote. And take advantage of early voting if your state offers it.  That way, you can be free to help others get to the polls on election day!  #2018IsEveryting!

The Friday Link for 9/14/18

Sweet and simple this Friday!

Thursday night's Colbert's takedown of Trump's delusional Hurricane Maria rantings was special.  I'm usually hesitant to just post one of the late night host's monologues, but this was good.

Then the Honest Trailers guys take on Predator.  This movie is fantastic, but the point they make about how much better the movie would've been if they hadn't revealed it was an alien in the first scenes is spot on.  It would've been a much scarier film, with the viewer wondering what the heck is doing the killing, and making the alien reveal at the lakeside even creepier.

Have a great weekend everyone!

The Trump Top 20 Countdown for the Week of 9/3/18

Welcome to the Weekly Top 20 Countdown of Trump's ineptitude and stupidity for the week of 9/3/18 to 9/9/18.

These are the 20 most boneheaded things coming from Trump and his Administration this week.  If this was a Democratic Administration, EVERYTHING on this list would have triggered one or more of the following: condemning press conferences, investigations, committee hearings, firings, resignations and even one or two impeachment charges.  Instead we have a man child, whose own staff pegs him for a 10 year olds intelligence.  His own Administration actually was having conversations about invoking the 25th Amendment!  And yet the Republican Party itself rings their silent endorsement.

Quick note, I did not include the Kavanaugh Senate hearings at all this week.  Although he was a pick by Trump, and although I have included him on lists in the past, all of the drama for him this week originated in the Senate.  I've got kids and it's the beginning of the school year...I have to draw the line somewhere.

A quick Google search will give you plenty of news options on all of these stories.  The ranking is purely on me.  Please feel free to disagree and comment why below.

On with the countdown!

20) George Papadopoulos, the former Trump campaign staffer who got drunk in London, then bragged about the Trump campaign's knowledge of who hacked the Clinton campaign to the Australians, was sentenced on Friday.  His lawyer made the argument his punishment shouldn't be that bad because Trump did FAR more to hinder the investigation that Papadopoulos ever did.  In the end, he was sentenced to 14 days. (9/7)

19) Donald Trump Jr (Tweedle Dee) and Eric Trump (Tweddle Dum) probably need to avoid making comments on the internet.  Jr. went after former President Obama on Twitter, stating it's a lie the economy was improving during the Obama term, adding 'regulations and taxes halted all business growth in America until Trump took over.'  Donald Frum, Senior Editor at the Atlantic immediately released one chart which shows Jr. is a dumba$$.  Still Jr's the smart one.  Eric proved to be ambivalent to irony as he tweeted out "Hatred makes people blind to facts."  WOW, put these two together, and you have pure gold! (9/8)

18) Trump has diverted $25 million earmarked for the care of Palestinians in East Jerusalem hospitals, money that was already approved, just because he can.  He has ordered the money be directed elsewhere, mainly paying for his massive tax break to millionaires and billionaires.  (9/9)

17) With the kickoff to the NFL regular season, the day saw numerous players kneeling during the National Anthem, protesting racial inequity in America, even though Trump once again ordered them to stand, saying the 'never more popular' NFL is losing record amounts of viewers.  By the way (spoiler alert), three days earlier, a fan of Trump's was witnessed repeatedly wiping her nose with an American flag...you know, respecting the flag, Trump style (see above image).  (9/9)

16) On Labor Day, Trump attacked labor.  Trump attacked the head of the AFL-CIO, Richard Trumka, who had gone on Fox News over the weekend, criticizing Trump and his ham handed handling of trade.  "The things that he's done to hurt workers outpace what he has done to help workers."  Trump called Trumka un-American, insisted Trumka is why unions are doing poorly (remember, on Labor Day!), and then called Trumka out for being a Democrat.  Trump then deleted the original tweet, before reposting it later on Labor Day.  (9/3)

15) In an interview with the Daily Caller, Trump claims to have pictures of Special Counsel Robert Mueller and Former FBI Director James Comey "hugging and kissing each other."  Trump's usual pattern is when the media coverage of him turns bad, to start the dumpster fire himself.  This outrageous claim seems to look like an attempt by Trump to change the topic, primarily away from the Bob Woodward book, 'Fear.' (9/5)

14) Former President Barack Obama laid into Trump in a speech in Illinois.  He went after the politics of rage, Trump's war on the free press and even called out Trump's inability to effectively condemn the Nazis.  The speech was a wonderful reminder of what real leadership looks like. He also called out the Republicans repeatedly, and called out the anonymous writer of the New York Times Editorial, stating 'allowing 90% of the crazy and then acting like stopping 10% is good is foolish.' Trump claimed he fell asleep during Obama's speech.  We all know the truth.  Trump's aides are extremely worried Obama's return is burning Trump up on the inside. (9/7)

13) (Spoiler) Former White House Aide Omarosa Manigault-Newman backed up Bob Woodward's claim there have actually been discussions within the White House to invoke the 25th Amendment, the amendment designed to remove a mentally unfit President from office.  White House aides were using the hashtag #TFA to secretly discuss the potential of removing Trump from office.  Remember, this isn't Democrats having these discussions.  It's Trump's own internal White House staff discussing it. (9/9)

12) Trump is pushing for a new Farm Bill with work requirements for people who receive federal food assistance, SNAP, in order to receive food.  No word if he's willing to make exceptions for people who can't work, for whatever reason, to allow them to get food, a basic necessity of life.  Food assistance for the needy without hoops to jump through is something all Christians should be championing. (9/5)

11) The Mueller investigation is receiving new testimony from someone who could go a lot further at proving Trump BFF Roger Stone was indeed the go between for the Russians/Wikileaks and the Trump Campaign.  Talk Radio Host Randy Credico, who Stone himself claimed was his backchannel to Wikileaks, is testifying before the grand jury.  He's expected to shed light on what he knows in regards to Stone's involvement in the Russia scandal.  As the testimony was taking place, Stone released a video taunting and insulting Credico, a clear sign Stone is terrified of what Credico could possibly be sharing. (9/7)

10) Apple reportedly will begin raising prices on certain Apple products due to tariffs the Trump Administration has placed on Chinese goods.  In response, Trump showed he has zero understanding of how corporate business finances work, implying the solution for Apple is as simple as just shutting down all of the Apple production facilities in China and opening up new ones here in the US.  A quick side note: many of the parts Apple uses are already made in the US and are shipped to China for assembly.  Putting aside the astronomical costs of moving ALL of their production facilities, for Apple products to be assembled in the US the cost on all their products would have to go up dramatically, mainly because they would have to pay a much higher wage to the workers, meaning their products would cease being popular due to cost.  In other tariff news, highlighting US steel and lumber, Business Insider has reported consumer prices are starting to increase dramatically due to Trump's tariffs.  Trump is unrelenting, threatening another 267 billion in tariffs on China, on top of the 200 billion he's already put in place. (9/7-8)

9) In a bizarre rally in Montana, Trump was terrifying.  He rambled, hardly ever making a coherent point.  He slurred his words and assaulted the word "anonymous."  He claimed Lincoln's Gettysburg Address was ripped apart by the fake news of the day...in 1863...claiming "they said it was a terrible, terrible speech."  Most reviews of the Gettysburg Address, days and weeks after it occurred, were actually quite positive, with a few Confederate papers ridiculing it (to no one's surprise).  Even Trump's Montana crowd wasn't playing nice.  The paid actors/attendees they had placed behind Trump were switched out after they were seen wondering what the heck he was saying.  Also, a Trump supporting girl sitting right behind Trump was seen wiping her nose, REPEATEDLY, on the American flag she was wearing as an accessory (see above image). (9/6)

8) The lawsuit brought by former Apprentice contestant Summer Zervos has just become a much bigger problem for Trump. Trump and Zervos' lawyers have reached an agreement which will compel Trump to have to answer, in writing, formal questions pertaining to her case. Trump has to answer the questions honestly, otherwise he will face perjury charges.  Zervos sued Trump for defamation in 2017 after he called her a liar when she brought forward claims Trump had groped her while she was on the show. (9/9)

7) (Spoilers) The practice Mueller interviews mentioned in Bob Woodward's new book 'Fear,' the ones where Trump's lawyers gave him a practice interview which he failed spectacularly, might have been FAR worse than originally revealed.  Apparently Trump's lawyers went to Mueller after the practice interview, re-inacted it, and said it proved how ill prepared he is to get interviewed.  Trump attorneys John Dowd and Ty Cobb told Mueller "He just made something up...that's his nature."  Trump's own lawyers warned Mueller that Trump would do so bad in his interviews, it was actually a threat to national security(!!!).  Experts are taking this as an admission of obstruction of justice by Trump, from Trump's lawyers directly! (9/5)

6) It's been revealed various Trump Administration officials had met with Venezuelan rebels in an effort to garner support for a Trump backed overthrow of elected Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro.  One of the officials Trump's team met with was on a list of foreign officials the US has already determined were not trustworthy.  It's believed, when Trump, out of the blue, stated the military option was on the table in regards to Venezuela in 2017, he was actually trying to send a message to the rebels to proceed with the military coup.  The US refused to provide material aid for the rebels, and the coup fizzled after numerous members were arrested.  When asked about it, the White House made a vague statement, stating they've had "dialogue with all Venezuelans." (9/8)

5) Two Guatemalan families have filed suit against 12 Trump Administration officials, including Chief of Staff John Kelly, Attorney General Jeff Sessions and Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen, for violating their due-process rights, and discrimination, in regards to the implementation of Trump's immigrant family-separation policy.  The children were kept in barbaric conditions when separated from their parents, and the entire family are still suffering from serious mental health issues caused by the separation.  Well over 400 kids are still not reunited with their parents, and 14 of them are toddlers, under the age of 5.  It's now been revealed over 73 percent of the remaining families Trump and the Administration separated are unable to be immediately reunited because the US Government has already deported the parents. (9/6)

4) (Spoilers) Trump is lashing out after discovering what Bob Woodward stirred up with his new book about the Trump Administration, 'Fear.'  Woodward did try to interview Trump, but was turned down repeatedly.  After Trump saw what was in the book, he pretended Woodward never called his office, something he himself quickly contradicted, admitting he himself knew of attempts to interview him.  Trump's now saying one of the most trusted journalists in America has fabricated most of the book, accusing Woodward of libel in a tweet.  On one specific element of Woodward's book, another journalist, Axios' Jonathan Swan, backed up Woodward's account of Trump insulting Attorney General Jeff Sessions, where Trump called him "mentally retarded" and a "dumb Southerner." Swan stated multiple senior officials have confirmed the comments, and a review of Trump's visits to Howard Stern's radio show prove Trump has often used the term 'mentally retarded' as an insult.  How Christian! (9/5)

3) Washington DC imploded today when the New York Times published an anonymous editorial written by someone in the Administration, someone claiming to be apart of "the Resistance."  The editorial states Trump is a failure, and claims Trump's problem is his amorality, "he's not moored to any discernible first principles that guide his decision making."  The writer says the Administration has had to work hard to stop Trump from capitulating to the Russian Government, pointing out Trump's obscene favoritism towards the Russians.  They also say any success from the Administration are in spite of, not originating from, Trump.  Trump's first response was a one word tweet "TREASON?" He then claims 'national security' for his demand to know who wrote it.  He trashed the New York Times too, but he does that nearly every day.  Mad speculation is swirling about who the anonymous editorial writer is, while Trump's external allies are screaming how the rest of the Administration is not helping him. (9/5)

2) Over 400 children separated from their parents by the Trump Administration have yet to be returned to their parents, even though there's a court order for them to do so.  The latest unspeakable tragedy: it's been revealed at least three more children, all three from El Salvador, ranging in ages from 12 to 17, were sexually assaulted by workers at the Arizona shelters where these children are being held.  Which individual shelters aren't named in the report, but a shelter in Arizona was the site of another sexual assault of an underage immigrant child separated from their parents.  The private company running that facility employed the child rapist.  These crimes are all being done under the shadow of flag of the United States of Ameirca. (9/3)

1) Watergate journalist Bob Woodward has a book on Trump coming out, titled 'Fear,' and (shock!) Trump doesn't look too good.  As a matter of fact, Fear is the most appropriate name for this book.  Amongst the many points, Defense Secretary James Mattis feels Trump acts like, and has the understanding of, a 5th grader, specifically when it comes to understanding foreign policy, and Mattis had to outright refuse an order by Trump to kill the Syrian Government, an order to effectively overthrow the government of a foreign country. Chief of Staff John Kelly thinks Trump is an idiot and "has gone off the rails in Crazytown." Trump's terrified of doing a Robert Mueller special council interview because he's melted down repeatedly in practice interviews.  Trump felt as if condemning the neo-Nazis after Charlottesville was "the biggest f*cking mistake I've made." Numerous staff members have swiped papers from Trump's desk to prevent him from making catastrophic errors which would irreparably damage the country.  They also have removed things from his desk which could possibly cause Trump to have a nervous breakdown.  Trump has a tendency of calling people names, such as former Chief of Staff Reince Priebus (little rat), former National Security Advisor H.R. McMaster (beer salesman), and (the most damaging) Attorney General Jeff Sessions was called "mentally retarded" and a "dumb Southerner."  For the record, Woodward, a respected journalist, tried to set up an interview with Trump, but was denied by Trump aides.  Trump is furious, and the White House is in chaos. (9/4)

Matt bookclub suggestion; go buy 'Fear.' The only two things going for us right now are the knowledge we are going to kick the Republican's asses in November, and that history will not only be incredible unkind to Trump, it will also be incredibly unkind to Trump's supporters, who will all be labeled for the people they really are.

The Friday Link for 9/7/18

Howdy everyone!

Tonight, I'm going to prove I can say something positive about a Republican.  Missouri Republican Rep. Bill Long took a unique approach to a far right blogger protesting in a House Committee hearing.  Long, before he was a politician, was an auctioneer.  This is outstanding!

Also a tribute to Burt Reynolds.  We forget he was the biggest star in America from 1978 to 1981.  There are so many great roles he had, but he was special in another format.  He was one of the top five all time guests on The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson.  Here he is as his career exploded in 1978.

Burt was great.  I moved to Buford, Georgia in 1980, and even though Reynolds was popular in the rest of the country, he was a God in the south.  They loved him down there.  He will be missed.

Have great weekend everyone!
