The Trump Top 20 Countdown for the Week of 9/3/18

Welcome to the Weekly Top 20 Countdown of Trump's ineptitude and stupidity for the week of 9/3/18 to 9/9/18.

These are the 20 most boneheaded things coming from Trump and his Administration this week.  If this was a Democratic Administration, EVERYTHING on this list would have triggered one or more of the following: condemning press conferences, investigations, committee hearings, firings, resignations and even one or two impeachment charges.  Instead we have a man child, whose own staff pegs him for a 10 year olds intelligence.  His own Administration actually was having conversations about invoking the 25th Amendment!  And yet the Republican Party itself rings their silent endorsement.

Quick note, I did not include the Kavanaugh Senate hearings at all this week.  Although he was a pick by Trump, and although I have included him on lists in the past, all of the drama for him this week originated in the Senate.  I've got kids and it's the beginning of the school year...I have to draw the line somewhere.

A quick Google search will give you plenty of news options on all of these stories.  The ranking is purely on me.  Please feel free to disagree and comment why below.

On with the countdown!

20) George Papadopoulos, the former Trump campaign staffer who got drunk in London, then bragged about the Trump campaign's knowledge of who hacked the Clinton campaign to the Australians, was sentenced on Friday.  His lawyer made the argument his punishment shouldn't be that bad because Trump did FAR more to hinder the investigation that Papadopoulos ever did.  In the end, he was sentenced to 14 days. (9/7)

19) Donald Trump Jr (Tweedle Dee) and Eric Trump (Tweddle Dum) probably need to avoid making comments on the internet.  Jr. went after former President Obama on Twitter, stating it's a lie the economy was improving during the Obama term, adding 'regulations and taxes halted all business growth in America until Trump took over.'  Donald Frum, Senior Editor at the Atlantic immediately released one chart which shows Jr. is a dumba$$.  Still Jr's the smart one.  Eric proved to be ambivalent to irony as he tweeted out "Hatred makes people blind to facts."  WOW, put these two together, and you have pure gold! (9/8)

18) Trump has diverted $25 million earmarked for the care of Palestinians in East Jerusalem hospitals, money that was already approved, just because he can.  He has ordered the money be directed elsewhere, mainly paying for his massive tax break to millionaires and billionaires.  (9/9)

17) With the kickoff to the NFL regular season, the day saw numerous players kneeling during the National Anthem, protesting racial inequity in America, even though Trump once again ordered them to stand, saying the 'never more popular' NFL is losing record amounts of viewers.  By the way (spoiler alert), three days earlier, a fan of Trump's was witnessed repeatedly wiping her nose with an American flag...you know, respecting the flag, Trump style (see above image).  (9/9)

16) On Labor Day, Trump attacked labor.  Trump attacked the head of the AFL-CIO, Richard Trumka, who had gone on Fox News over the weekend, criticizing Trump and his ham handed handling of trade.  "The things that he's done to hurt workers outpace what he has done to help workers."  Trump called Trumka un-American, insisted Trumka is why unions are doing poorly (remember, on Labor Day!), and then called Trumka out for being a Democrat.  Trump then deleted the original tweet, before reposting it later on Labor Day.  (9/3)

15) In an interview with the Daily Caller, Trump claims to have pictures of Special Counsel Robert Mueller and Former FBI Director James Comey "hugging and kissing each other."  Trump's usual pattern is when the media coverage of him turns bad, to start the dumpster fire himself.  This outrageous claim seems to look like an attempt by Trump to change the topic, primarily away from the Bob Woodward book, 'Fear.' (9/5)

14) Former President Barack Obama laid into Trump in a speech in Illinois.  He went after the politics of rage, Trump's war on the free press and even called out Trump's inability to effectively condemn the Nazis.  The speech was a wonderful reminder of what real leadership looks like. He also called out the Republicans repeatedly, and called out the anonymous writer of the New York Times Editorial, stating 'allowing 90% of the crazy and then acting like stopping 10% is good is foolish.' Trump claimed he fell asleep during Obama's speech.  We all know the truth.  Trump's aides are extremely worried Obama's return is burning Trump up on the inside. (9/7)

13) (Spoiler) Former White House Aide Omarosa Manigault-Newman backed up Bob Woodward's claim there have actually been discussions within the White House to invoke the 25th Amendment, the amendment designed to remove a mentally unfit President from office.  White House aides were using the hashtag #TFA to secretly discuss the potential of removing Trump from office.  Remember, this isn't Democrats having these discussions.  It's Trump's own internal White House staff discussing it. (9/9)

12) Trump is pushing for a new Farm Bill with work requirements for people who receive federal food assistance, SNAP, in order to receive food.  No word if he's willing to make exceptions for people who can't work, for whatever reason, to allow them to get food, a basic necessity of life.  Food assistance for the needy without hoops to jump through is something all Christians should be championing. (9/5)

11) The Mueller investigation is receiving new testimony from someone who could go a lot further at proving Trump BFF Roger Stone was indeed the go between for the Russians/Wikileaks and the Trump Campaign.  Talk Radio Host Randy Credico, who Stone himself claimed was his backchannel to Wikileaks, is testifying before the grand jury.  He's expected to shed light on what he knows in regards to Stone's involvement in the Russia scandal.  As the testimony was taking place, Stone released a video taunting and insulting Credico, a clear sign Stone is terrified of what Credico could possibly be sharing. (9/7)

10) Apple reportedly will begin raising prices on certain Apple products due to tariffs the Trump Administration has placed on Chinese goods.  In response, Trump showed he has zero understanding of how corporate business finances work, implying the solution for Apple is as simple as just shutting down all of the Apple production facilities in China and opening up new ones here in the US.  A quick side note: many of the parts Apple uses are already made in the US and are shipped to China for assembly.  Putting aside the astronomical costs of moving ALL of their production facilities, for Apple products to be assembled in the US the cost on all their products would have to go up dramatically, mainly because they would have to pay a much higher wage to the workers, meaning their products would cease being popular due to cost.  In other tariff news, highlighting US steel and lumber, Business Insider has reported consumer prices are starting to increase dramatically due to Trump's tariffs.  Trump is unrelenting, threatening another 267 billion in tariffs on China, on top of the 200 billion he's already put in place. (9/7-8)

9) In a bizarre rally in Montana, Trump was terrifying.  He rambled, hardly ever making a coherent point.  He slurred his words and assaulted the word "anonymous."  He claimed Lincoln's Gettysburg Address was ripped apart by the fake news of the day...in 1863...claiming "they said it was a terrible, terrible speech."  Most reviews of the Gettysburg Address, days and weeks after it occurred, were actually quite positive, with a few Confederate papers ridiculing it (to no one's surprise).  Even Trump's Montana crowd wasn't playing nice.  The paid actors/attendees they had placed behind Trump were switched out after they were seen wondering what the heck he was saying.  Also, a Trump supporting girl sitting right behind Trump was seen wiping her nose, REPEATEDLY, on the American flag she was wearing as an accessory (see above image). (9/6)

8) The lawsuit brought by former Apprentice contestant Summer Zervos has just become a much bigger problem for Trump. Trump and Zervos' lawyers have reached an agreement which will compel Trump to have to answer, in writing, formal questions pertaining to her case. Trump has to answer the questions honestly, otherwise he will face perjury charges.  Zervos sued Trump for defamation in 2017 after he called her a liar when she brought forward claims Trump had groped her while she was on the show. (9/9)

7) (Spoilers) The practice Mueller interviews mentioned in Bob Woodward's new book 'Fear,' the ones where Trump's lawyers gave him a practice interview which he failed spectacularly, might have been FAR worse than originally revealed.  Apparently Trump's lawyers went to Mueller after the practice interview, re-inacted it, and said it proved how ill prepared he is to get interviewed.  Trump attorneys John Dowd and Ty Cobb told Mueller "He just made something up...that's his nature."  Trump's own lawyers warned Mueller that Trump would do so bad in his interviews, it was actually a threat to national security(!!!).  Experts are taking this as an admission of obstruction of justice by Trump, from Trump's lawyers directly! (9/5)

6) It's been revealed various Trump Administration officials had met with Venezuelan rebels in an effort to garner support for a Trump backed overthrow of elected Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro.  One of the officials Trump's team met with was on a list of foreign officials the US has already determined were not trustworthy.  It's believed, when Trump, out of the blue, stated the military option was on the table in regards to Venezuela in 2017, he was actually trying to send a message to the rebels to proceed with the military coup.  The US refused to provide material aid for the rebels, and the coup fizzled after numerous members were arrested.  When asked about it, the White House made a vague statement, stating they've had "dialogue with all Venezuelans." (9/8)

5) Two Guatemalan families have filed suit against 12 Trump Administration officials, including Chief of Staff John Kelly, Attorney General Jeff Sessions and Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen, for violating their due-process rights, and discrimination, in regards to the implementation of Trump's immigrant family-separation policy.  The children were kept in barbaric conditions when separated from their parents, and the entire family are still suffering from serious mental health issues caused by the separation.  Well over 400 kids are still not reunited with their parents, and 14 of them are toddlers, under the age of 5.  It's now been revealed over 73 percent of the remaining families Trump and the Administration separated are unable to be immediately reunited because the US Government has already deported the parents. (9/6)

4) (Spoilers) Trump is lashing out after discovering what Bob Woodward stirred up with his new book about the Trump Administration, 'Fear.'  Woodward did try to interview Trump, but was turned down repeatedly.  After Trump saw what was in the book, he pretended Woodward never called his office, something he himself quickly contradicted, admitting he himself knew of attempts to interview him.  Trump's now saying one of the most trusted journalists in America has fabricated most of the book, accusing Woodward of libel in a tweet.  On one specific element of Woodward's book, another journalist, Axios' Jonathan Swan, backed up Woodward's account of Trump insulting Attorney General Jeff Sessions, where Trump called him "mentally retarded" and a "dumb Southerner." Swan stated multiple senior officials have confirmed the comments, and a review of Trump's visits to Howard Stern's radio show prove Trump has often used the term 'mentally retarded' as an insult.  How Christian! (9/5)

3) Washington DC imploded today when the New York Times published an anonymous editorial written by someone in the Administration, someone claiming to be apart of "the Resistance."  The editorial states Trump is a failure, and claims Trump's problem is his amorality, "he's not moored to any discernible first principles that guide his decision making."  The writer says the Administration has had to work hard to stop Trump from capitulating to the Russian Government, pointing out Trump's obscene favoritism towards the Russians.  They also say any success from the Administration are in spite of, not originating from, Trump.  Trump's first response was a one word tweet "TREASON?" He then claims 'national security' for his demand to know who wrote it.  He trashed the New York Times too, but he does that nearly every day.  Mad speculation is swirling about who the anonymous editorial writer is, while Trump's external allies are screaming how the rest of the Administration is not helping him. (9/5)

2) Over 400 children separated from their parents by the Trump Administration have yet to be returned to their parents, even though there's a court order for them to do so.  The latest unspeakable tragedy: it's been revealed at least three more children, all three from El Salvador, ranging in ages from 12 to 17, were sexually assaulted by workers at the Arizona shelters where these children are being held.  Which individual shelters aren't named in the report, but a shelter in Arizona was the site of another sexual assault of an underage immigrant child separated from their parents.  The private company running that facility employed the child rapist.  These crimes are all being done under the shadow of flag of the United States of Ameirca. (9/3)

1) Watergate journalist Bob Woodward has a book on Trump coming out, titled 'Fear,' and (shock!) Trump doesn't look too good.  As a matter of fact, Fear is the most appropriate name for this book.  Amongst the many points, Defense Secretary James Mattis feels Trump acts like, and has the understanding of, a 5th grader, specifically when it comes to understanding foreign policy, and Mattis had to outright refuse an order by Trump to kill the Syrian Government, an order to effectively overthrow the government of a foreign country. Chief of Staff John Kelly thinks Trump is an idiot and "has gone off the rails in Crazytown." Trump's terrified of doing a Robert Mueller special council interview because he's melted down repeatedly in practice interviews.  Trump felt as if condemning the neo-Nazis after Charlottesville was "the biggest f*cking mistake I've made." Numerous staff members have swiped papers from Trump's desk to prevent him from making catastrophic errors which would irreparably damage the country.  They also have removed things from his desk which could possibly cause Trump to have a nervous breakdown.  Trump has a tendency of calling people names, such as former Chief of Staff Reince Priebus (little rat), former National Security Advisor H.R. McMaster (beer salesman), and (the most damaging) Attorney General Jeff Sessions was called "mentally retarded" and a "dumb Southerner."  For the record, Woodward, a respected journalist, tried to set up an interview with Trump, but was denied by Trump aides.  Trump is furious, and the White House is in chaos. (9/4)

Matt bookclub suggestion; go buy 'Fear.' The only two things going for us right now are the knowledge we are going to kick the Republican's asses in November, and that history will not only be incredible unkind to Trump, it will also be incredibly unkind to Trump's supporters, who will all be labeled for the people they really are.

#2018 is everything.  Help Democratic candidates in tough districts.  We can't win without Maximum effort (thanks Deadpool!)

Keep believing in hope!
